NOXER DOD is not your stereotypical graffiti writer. The Bushwick native has put in as much time as anyone bombing the streets, but to say that he has a unique style would be an understatement. And where other artists struggle to make a connection between illegal graffiti and gallery artwork, NOXER’s work floats seamlessly from one world to another, and to the infinity of weed-smoke-filled space beyond. NOXER’s Black Man Gone Robbin’ character inhabits scenes from Brooklyn to Ancient Egypt and Asia. It has appeared in zines and taken the form of canvas paintings, toy figures and apparel, not to mention the elaborate masks NOXER likes to wear. Yet NOXER’s work remains rooted in illegal graffiti, and the drive to never stop developing and evolving.
