Philly Street Art Interviews: The Artist Behind stikman

Mystery is inherent to street art. Signatures and tags often lead to Instagram accounts where you can follow and support anonymous artists, but for some, mystery and anonymity are a part of the art. No one practices this more staunchly than my interview guest today: the prolific and inventive street artist behind the character known as stikman.

Cheryl Dunn’s Moments Like This Never Last made its debut yesterday as a part of the 2020 DOC NYC film festival. It’s an intimate piece on the life of graffiti legend turned art world darling, Dash Snow. On November 19, 2020, 5-6:30pm, coinciding with the exhibition Futura Akari, The Noguchi Museum will host a limited-capacity book signing and print release event to commemorate the publication of FUTURA: The Artist’s Monograph (Rizzoli, 2020) and the unveiling of a pair of new collaborative limited edition prints by FUTURA2000 and Takashi Murakami.
